Our main focus in the Literacy Lab is to have students use technology to improve and enhance experiences in: Language Arts, keyboarding, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, research, drawing, computer hardware and functions, and publishing work.

Literacy Lab Focus Areas for February

Kindergarten &
​1st Grade

Kindergartners will be focusing on number words (one to five), initial & final /g/, and sight words (here, go, from).  We will also continue working on mouse skills and logging on to home screen and a particular website.

1st graders will focus on action verbs.  They will also practice logging into frequently used websites, as well as exploring Microsoft Word. 

2nd & 3rd Grade

2nd graders will focus on the verb "be": is, am, are, was, were, along with pronouns: singular and plural.  Keyboarding skills will also be a focus area, along with exploring Microsoft Word.

3rd graders will focus on verbs: past, present/now, & future, as well as keyboarding skills and and using toolbar tabs in Microsoft Word.

4th & 5th Grade

4th graders will focus on pronouns & antecedents.  Keyboarding skills and using toolbar tabs in Microsoft Word will also be a focus area.

5th graders will focus on using Who & Whom, and adjectives & articles, as well as keyboarding skills and using toolbar tabs in Microsoft Word.
